Elite Athlete Fund
Having supported our athletes preparing for the 1996 Olympic Games which culminated in our nation’s best outing in the quadrennial event, we have designed a new module to raise 4.5million Nigerians to donate N200 to a special project which will enable us to support 90 athletes in five sports inclusive of para-sports. We feel this will make our athletes have a better reason to work harder and better.
Our efforts over the years with government funding has not placed the nation on a place of respect. This is the structure we want to amend. Our vision is informed by the fact that one-third of the athletes supported can get to the Olympic Games in Tokyo and of those who qualify, one-third can be helped to get to bronze, thus, we are eyeing about 10 medals (of any colour).
Each of the 90 athletes will earn the following from the N10million we wish to raise and give to them:
- Kitting (once a year) N500,000.00
- Insurance premium N75,000.00
- Living allowance (monthly) N50,000.00
- Supplement (quarterly) N300,000.00
- Mentorship (each will mentor 4 youths) N375,000.00
- Annuity plan (for five years) N180,000.00
- Vehicle support N800,000.00
- Performance bonus (N850,000.00)
- The 14 not in Akure (Coaching fee) N1,000,000.00
- Miscellaneous N100,000.00
We have set up a Governance team to manage the raised funds. The seven-man team shall include:
